Hi, my husband and I are interested in getting in the business but I am reading such negative
stuff. If you are in the business, will you tell me honestly how it is? Can you really make a decent living or are you sitting on the sidelines and maybe doing 1,000 miles a week. I would appreciate some feedback from you. Thanks, and I like your website. Joyce
Thank you for visiting ExpressTrucking.com. This website was created to help those who, like yourself, are interested in getting into expediting. In the Business Strategies section of ExpressTrucking.com you will
find helpful insight on this industry as well as answers to the many questions you may have. In my opinion this information fairly presents the ups and downs of the trade. As with any business you will get negative and positive feedback as you start to do your research. The Business Strategies section of ExpressTrucking.com is quite large and may take you awhile to read, but I highly recommend you and your husband read through it completely. If you prefer UFS Insight Inc. offers a hard
cover book called "Business Educational, Successful Techniques of Express Trucking" which contains the information in the Business Strategies section and more. It is a great reference book to have on hand as you research getting into this business.
Best wishes to you and your husband if you do get into this business. Mark and I truly enjoyed expediting and I can honestly say it paid for itself but to be really profitable you need to constantly run 2,000 or more miles
a week. That is the biggest obstacle in expediting it’s not consistent enough to maintain that many miles every week. However in the busy season you may be able run 4,000 miles a week. If you know what to expect and the typical pattern of ups and downs you can plan your business strategy accordingly. That is what the Business Strategies section of ExpressTrucking.com and the book can help you with. #
